Portland Ranks 5th Fittest City

Thanks to all the bike lovers and dedicated runners, Portland Oregon has made the list of healthiest cities according to American College of Sports Medicine. 

A poll released this week from the American Fitness Index ranks Portland as the fifth fittest city in the country.  The ranking is based on 30 factors, including disease rates, lifestyle, and the number of people who eat their daily serving of fruits and vegetables.   The report found Portland’s obesity rate is about 23 percent and its exercise rate is at 82 percent.

Washington, D.C. has been ranked No. 1 for the third year in a row.   Portland on the other hand ranked seventh in 2009 and increased its overall score in 2010.
